An installation and procession created in Caracas with 75 participants from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in the fall of 2013. Sound Workshop with Josefina Benedetti
Discarded building materials were used to create a series of full scale drawings to be used in a procession through campus and in an installation in one of the university’s galleries.
We used the ground floor of Villanueva’s Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo building to build the the three dimensional drawings. Here, a tracing of one of Alexander Calder’s “Clouds”.

Participants worked together, teaching each other skills and figuring out ways to make dissimilar things connect.
The procession followed a path between the artworks which inspired our drawings. Each of the murals represented, for the architect, a synthesis of art and architecture.
